I couldn’t wait to photograph Morgan and Drew’s wedding at the Thomas Center. As outdoorsy people, Morgan had told me that they were planning on using citrus to create an “Old Florida” vibe for their wedding, which I was very excited about.
Her hard work did not disappoint. The entire wedding was decorated with pieces of dried citrus fruit (that they had dried themselves!!!), orange leaves and blossoms were beautifully arranged as centerpieces, loquats still on their branches decorated the entrance to the ceremony location, and even the table markers were citrus themed–never mind finding your table, find your citrus! Plus, I just have to point out their incredible wedding cake because it was just a work of art. Cheryl Barolet of Cheryl’s Confections made one of the most amazing wedding cakes I’ve ever seen. Check it out in the photo below…those orange blossoms and leaves on the cake are all handmade using confectionary magic! That’s right folks, those flowers on the cake are not from a tree!
The two had a lovely outdoor ceremony in the side courtyard followed by a relaxing reception by the fountain, as the sun slowly dipped behind the trees and a gentle breeze carried the music across the grassy lawn. Definitely a perfect Florida wedding!
